Ever since I was a kid, I have wanted to create something that brings together my values and things that I hold dear to my heart - my city, my legacy, and my passion. As a proud daughter of a very talented designer and a co-owner of a family jewelry company, I have gained years of experience in the process of creating unique pieces of jewelry. However, as a philanthropist with a knack for social initiatives, it was only a matter of time before I  decided to use my expertise to create my own community support initiative.

Throwing this first cent into the school's money box for the local shelter, I was captured by a local newspaper. Little did I know that almost 20 years later, that same newspaper would write about me again, this time creating my own social initiative that I am now proud of. There have been many stops on my journey to make these dreams come true. I now know that all of them were much-needed lessons and signposts that led me to where I am now.

Global Volunteer Network Lead Reuters

As a fresh graduate from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, I returned to my hometown and took my first job in the international media company - Thomson Reuters. Right from the start, I have become involved in various charity initiatives. I was full of energy and hungry for more, so the management allowed me to organize my own events that I prepared after hours. Soon I became known for this and built a network of loyal volunteers who co-created with me. It has not gone unnoticed, and the management soon offered me the role of Global Volunteer Network Lead - one person responsible for all the charity events happening on the site. During that time, I have organized more than 25 fundraising and in-kind assistance initiatives and raised more than 30,000 złoty for the local community. Our help went to the Hopice, homeless shelter, victims of the earthquake in Aleppo, animal shelters, and many others. 

At the same time, I have also been active in the Gdańsk Branch of the Project Management Institute. Their flagship project was organizing English Camp for children from underprivileged families. Starting as a volunteer in one of the teams, I then became a Scrum Master, Product Owner, and finally, a Project Manager of the English Winter Camp 2016. Working with children has been something new for me, just like managing four teams and a 50,000 złoty budget. The pressure was on and huge, and so was the fear that I would be that one Project Manager that fails. In retrospect, I would say this was the first real lesson of accountability when I became aware of the consequences of my actions (or inaction) but, even more so - the power of teamwork. Without its proper coordination, organizing the camp for over 30 children would not be possible. But we made it possible. The Camp was a great success that we celebrated at the stage of the Atelier Theatre in Sopot on February 2016. 

One Young World Ambassador

Dochodzimy do punktu zwrotnego w mojej karierze, kiedy zdałam sobie sprawę, że pomaganie jest nie tylko moim hobby, czymś co robię gdy zamykam komputer i w pustym biurze tworzę grafiki na kolejny event. Pracując dalej w Reutersie przystąpiłam do konkursu w którym firma miała wyłonić 15 delegatów reprezentujących ją podczas międzynarodowej konferencji One Young World w Kanadzie. Był tylko jeden problem. 15 kandydatów z CAŁEGO ŚWIATA. Osoby te miała pokazać swoją działalnością zaangażowanie w sprawy społeczne. Wysłałam 3 minutowy filmik i... pojechałam na wakacje (zresztą jedne z najlepszych w życiu). Po powrocie dowiedziałam się, że nie tylko zostałam wybrana ale poza firmą będę reprezentować całą POLSKĘ machając naszą flagą przed Emmą Watson i premierem Kanady!

Po powrocie z Kanady, częściowo zafascynowana tamtą częścią świata ale bardziej wiedziona chęcią zdobywania wiedzy w zakresie humanitarnym, zdecydowałam się na krótki wyjazd do Nowego Jorku. Tam, przez trzy miesiące chodziłam na wykłady, byłam także wolnych słuchaczem Gender Studies na University of Columbia, a wieczorami, nie ukrywam, przesiadywałam w Blue Note i innych kolebkach jazzu (którego jestem ogromną fanką).

Po tym czasie dołączyłam do rodzinnej firmy jubilerskiej dzięki której teraz mogę realizować takie projekty jak Save the Sea. Wraz z rodzicami wspieramy także Fundację Hospicyjną z którą związana jestem od pierwszych wydarzeń, które organizowałam na ich rzecz w Reutersie. Od prywatnych garażówek po aukcje naszej biżuterii, staram się wspierać Hospicjum i Centrum Wytchnieniowe tak jak mogę bo wierzę w ich misję i uważam, że sytuacja opiekunów rodzinnych jest w Polsce bardzo zaniedbana i musi się zmienić!
